KINGSLAND SHOPPING CENTRE DALSTON

SLD were commissioned by Capital Investments along with Waugh Thistleton to review the existing Kingsland Shopping Centre and produce a feasibility to include residential above the existing ground floor stores.  The scheme progressed to planning but was halted before submission due to lease agreements, The proposals included new public realm and improved permeability at ground level for the shopping centre and new amenity spaces for residential.  Local art was to be carefully integrated into the streetscape.  Extensive consultation took place with shop owners and Hackney Council.
