THE VIBE, HOLY TRINITY
As the originally part of the cancelled ‘Building Schools for the Future’ programme this scheme was delivered in a way that allowed the two form-entry primary schools to be self-funded. Planning was granted by the GLA in Dec 2013 for a 3,213m2 school including a nursery and 101 open market homes with a linear terrace at roof level. The external landscape is divided into different areas for Primary, Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2. The external spaces include water play, an education pond, vegetable growing, climbing, sliding, a tree house and bat cave. There are also two semi-open 3rd-floor spaces for the pupils. There is an undercover climbing, balancing and swinging play area with a running track, games tables, bouldering wall and performing area. There is also a MUGA area for basketball, netball, tennis and football with an additional sprint track. Standerwick Land Design worked closely with the developer and architect to create coordinated and high-quality spaces fit for a great learning experience.
