KINGSWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL GYPSY HILL

A truly collaborative project, the school was decanted whilst a full internal and external overhaul took place. This allowed time for SLD and Baily Garner to set up a series of workshops with students and staff to prioritise what was important to incorporate for their new external spaces.  As the external space provision was limited a generous budget was allocated to maximise the use of the spaces and features selected by staff and students included an outdoor amphitheatre, running track, outdoor music area, play structures, a community grow your own area and shaded seating.  A local street artist was commissioned and brought into the school to develop artwork inspired by the students which was collaboratively painted on expansive retaining walls creating a sense of colour and vibrancy to the spaces.
