BELMONT ALLOTMENTS GRAYS

The proposed scheme for Thurrock Council is for around 80 homes on the former allotment site off Belmont Road in Grays. The design intent is to enhance and reinforce the character of the area by responding to its location within the open space, the existing statutory services, the proximity of neighbouring residential units and the need to meet local highway standards. The scheme will respect the character of Gray's local area and carefully incorporate swales and dells utilised as part of a sustainable drainage system. To minimise the impact of the development, the proposed buildings are generally kept to low-storey heights. A wide variety of natural habitats achieved a significant bio-diverse net gain on the site.
