CHAMPION HILL EAST DULWICH

SLD were commissioned to develop designs for a new stadium, leisure centre and residential scheme on the existing Dulwich Hamlet football club site, relocation of the pitch and stadium were part of the commission.  Proposals involved relocating the clubs pitch and stadium seating onto Metropolitan  Open Land.  A full LVIA was carried out to support the application and part of avoidance of impact and mitigation the new pitch was sunk into the landscape to avoid any visual impact to the MOP. SLD had to work carefully with a specialist stadium architect to determine the seating gradients and orientation of views onto the pitch.  We also worked closely with conservation groups to avoid any impact on local ecology.  The principle of development was agreed and full planning permission received.
