STEVENAGE RFC JACKS HILL

The project involved two sites; the existing rugby club close to the town where housing was proposed and, the relocation of the rugby club to Jacks Hill Farm set within the Greenbelt.  An LVIA was carried out for the relocation of the rugby and tennis club within the Greenbelt. The proposed clubhouses were sunk within the landscape to minimise visual impact and the sports pitches were carefully contoured to minimise the impact on the landscape.  The principle of development in the Greenbelt was agreed with the Local Authority but the project did not proceed due to access at the current rugby club not being suitable for housing.
