Public Realm Review of the Design District

SLD commenced a one year public realm review of the Design District which  was fully completed in 2023, the idea is to learn from the Knight Dragon and our own assessment how well the scheme is operating in terms of the design intent and how durable the material pallet is in reality.  SLD recently met with managers at Knight Dragon to obtain feedback on the scheme.  Items reviewed were the movement of people around the site, cyclists, lighting, successful materials, bin collection and service access, the feedback we received was invaluable for understanding pedestrian and cyclists' movement for future schemes.  We will be visiting the site again later in the year to review the event space in operation and the success of catenary lighting for evening events.
